Review for: The J, Churchgate, Mumbai

Whoever said French Fries should be considered as accompaniments shall be proved wrong by 'The J'. For it's no longer "Yes I want fries with that" anymore. It is "I'll have more fries with that fries".

Like they say 'Big things come in small packages' this place is hard to miss even though it is a small outlet inside a building, very close to Samrat Thali in Churchgate. We bumped into this place when we were looking for alternatives to Samrat, and to our surprise the menu and the reviews of fellow Zomatians just dragged us there.

As it was our first visit we were quite indecisive, but were made aware of all the must haves by the guy at the counter. Thanks to him we ended up with the most amazing experience one could have out of simple fries.

The combinations and varieties are endless, They serve their famous Home Lovin Fries, Burgers, Wraps, and Desserts. We were suggested to try the Chilli Cheese fries. Trust me, it can't get better than this. It was a great combination of a semi sweet chilli sauce along with melted cheese. Like all the fries get a bit soggy in a while, this one got soggy too, but still, no complaints. The Sauce and Cheese just made it perfect.

We then had the Pizza Wedges, which was potato wedges marinated and tossed in Pizza sauce and Cheese. Looked simple but tasted amazing. I would prefer it to be a little more spicy.

Following the vegetarian order I tried the Chicken fries called 'J in the Jungle'. It was the similar chilli cheese fries only with an addition of shredded chicken. It was a perfect match. The marination was light so that the chilli and cheese could blend.

The last order for that day was Ofcourse the Burger. We decided on the Vegetable burger, which was a basic potato patty crumb fried to perfection along with onions, lettuce, tomatoes and cheese. More like a indian version of the burger.

Everything in this place was worth visiting, the food, the packaging and the pricing. Sure to visit this place till we've tried almost everything from the menu.
